Welcome to Spiritual Works of Mercy, dedicated in
memory of the lives of my mother Tamar Teresa
Batterham Hennessy, and my grandmother Dorothy Day.
I am available to give talks on the history of
Dorothy Day and the Catholic Worker movement and its
most needed and relevant vision and application
today.
Our family and the
broader Catholic Worker community wish to share the
love and inspiration that continues to flow from
Tamar’s quiet example and Dorothy’s life work and
her written and spoken words. She was “Granny” to
many of us. Our vocation of carrying on the
spiritual and corporal works of mercy given from the
Gospel teachings, and now practiced through the
Catholic Worker living tradition, is in our hands.
